Most people schedule twice a week and find great benefits both mentally and physically, generally booking the same day and time each week. During hot summer months or when outdoor options are limited for whatever reason, we do find quite a few clients like to increase to twice a week. you know your dog best and we are here to help discuss options with you for your specific needs.
When our Fitpaw van arrives, your dog’s fitness adventure begins!
Our friendly canine coaches will introduce your pup to our non-motorized treadmills inside our k9 mobile gym.
We take things slow at first, building trust and confidence with toys and plenty of positive encouragement.
Most dogs start walking on our slatmill within a session or two, and once they realise it’s safe and fun, they really start to enjoy themselves. Many, Once they are confident, Run at full speed for the first time!
We’re with your dog every step of the way, offering support, monitoring their comfort and giving rest breaks when needed. If your dog loves to move, we’ll gradually introduce short bursts of running followed by gentle cool-downs.
Each session is all about helping your dog feel good, stay active, and have a great time doing it!
Each Fitpaw session lasts around 20–30 minutes. Experts agree that this is the ideal length to keep dogs mentally focused, boost cardiovascular health, and build muscle without overdoing it or risking injury from fatigue.
For dogs who aren’t quite conditioned for a full session, or those with medical or physical limitations, sessions may be shorter and adjusted to suit their needs.
Every dog is different, Some take to Fitpaw straight away, while others might need a few sessions to build a bit of confidence in themselves and the equipment. One of the great things about Fitpaw is that they don’t need to be flat-out running to get a proper workout.
Even at a gentle, steady pace, they’re focusing, balancing, and walking uphill for the entire session. They’re engaging their mind, core, stability, and leg muscle no matter the speed.
At Fitpaw, safety and positivity come first. Every session is tailored to your dog’s needs, whether they’re walking, trotting or running, we support them with close supervision, breaks, and encouragement along the way.
Our self-powered equipment means your dog sets the pace and nothing is forced. We make it fun with praise, squeaky toys and plenty of affection.
After their session, your dog may be panting alot, it just means that they’ve had a solid workout! dogs use panting as a way to regulate their body temprature, Be sure to wait until their heart rate has returned to normal before offering any food but Always have clean water available.
Some dogs might experience a burst of energy right after exercising. That’s completely normal too, Their endorphins and adrenaline are kicking in from the workout. Once they’ve had time to settle and their heart rate slows, the excitement will naturally wear off.
For older dogs or those who aren’t yet fully conditioned, we recommend giving their back legs a gentle rubdown after. This helps release lactic acid and can reduce soreness over the next couple of days.
We welcome canine clients aged 1 year and older and as long as they’re up to date on their vaccinations. Our team has experience working with a wide range of physical and behavioural needs including anxious, stubborn, overweight dogs and those recovering from surgery or dealing with other limitations. Unfortunatly we do not work with overly reactive or aggressive dogs.
Just let us know about your dog’s specific needs and we’ll see if we can tailor the session to support them safely and positively. We're here to help get every dog moving, at their own pace ofcourse! Please consult your veterinarian before beginning any physical activity with your dog if unsure.
We accept cash, card and bank transfer.
